A Godel Story
Wo, give me some context please!
The interesting part is that except for 1 and 2 they each come from a different text tradition.
Ooops. I lied, Only two text traditions. The odd part about that is that none of them are the standard one. That is interesting in itself.
Dates: Australia — 1855, Presbyterians — 1903, Paulist — 1989, MLK Jr — 1999. The first two from one text tradition (no longer active) the second two from a new tradition. KFD lives, and it lives outside Mormonism!
sources or excerpts would be nice, and fun to read.
Australia = Mormon mission newspaper, Zions Watchman (it had about a 3 year run I think)
Presbyterians= pamphlet published by the Sunday School Teachers assoc. (pretty rare.)
Paulist Press = published “Selected Sermons and Writings of Joseph Smith”
MLK Jr = KFD appears in “American Sermons: The Pilgrims to Martin Luther King Jr.”
The first two used a pretty rare Nauvoo printing from 1845.
The second two used a reconstruction (ok) by Donald Q. Cannon and Larry E. Dahl.
>> Paulist Press = published “Selected Sermons and Writings of Joseph Smith”
Wasn’t this book edited by Jana Riess?
Robert Millet, I believe.
