Institute for Editing Historical Documents
The 2012 Summer Institute for Editing Historical Documents will be held 5–9 August at the Omni Hotel in Charlottesville, Virginia. The Institute will be funded by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission through a grant to the Association for Documentary Editing.
Faculty members will include Cathy Moran Hajo (Margaret Sanger Papers), Robert Haggard (Jefferson Papers, Retirement Series), Ellen Hickman and Christine Patrick (Jefferson Retirement Series), Andrew Jewell (Willa Cather Archive), J. Jefferson Looney (Jefferson Papers, Retirement Series), Michael Stevens (State Historical Society of Wisconsin), and William Ferraro, Carol Ebel, and Benjamin Lee Huggins (Washington Papers).
The Institute is free, and a travel stipend will be provided to those living outside the Charlottesville area.
Applications are available on the ADE website (www.documentaryediting.org), and the deadline for applications is 1 March.

That sounds cool. I certainly wouldn’t have a paper to present, but the conference is close enough, so perhaps it might fit into my summer schedule. I’ll have to check.
(I’m still miffed that I couldn’t make it to the meeting in Philadelphia a couple of years ago.)
